Founded by parents in 1992, Shepley Pre-school has been established in the community for over 20 years. Our close links with local First Schools, Shepley First, Birdsedge, Upper & Lower Cumberworth Stocksmoor and Thurstonland help to support a smooth school transition for you and your child.
Our Mission
Is for all children who attend to feel welcomed, happy, safe and secure in an environment that builds upon each child’s individual wants, needs and interests through play and exploration.
Our Team
We have an experienced and highly qualified team of friendly and approachable childcare practitioners with excellent knowledge and skills enabling us to promote children’s learning at all levels.
All of our staff hold pediatric first-aid qualifications, as well as basic food hygiene. They attend regular safeguarding training as well as a variety of other training courses to enhance their professional development, whilst keeping up to date with current Early Years ideas and legislation.
Special Educational Needs & Local Offer
At Shepley Preschool we manage planned support for specific areas and requirements for those children with special educational needs and disabilities. We look to suggest strategies and work together with parents and carers to form a partnership which ensures that all children make the best possible progress. We also work closely with the local authority and can signpost and refer families where necessary. This may include tailored additional support on a one-to-one basis with a key person when your child is in the setting.
Working alongside other agencies such as speech & language therapists and health visitors provides that extra support when required. By doing this we aim to maximise the child’s growth and success in their early year’s experience with us.
